• •Don’t have to prep clinic in advance.
• •Patients complete surveys in advance.
• •Categorize patients’ symptoms — urinary, bowel, sexual.
• •Use templates (dot phrases in orientation doc).
• •Dot phrases — can take from Alex Sundermann or Amie Kawasaki. Kisby, Kawasaki.
• •Problem-based charting → steal dot phrase .DAN from Kawasaki for A/P.
• •POP-Q exam resource: https://pop-q.netlify.app/ — enter exam results to get stage of prolapse.
• •You will get to do this exam in clinic and are expected to do it.

Spend most time there.

• •Meet patient and med student in advance.
• •Prep patients in OR with position / prep.

Cases:

• •If vaginal surgery, don’t do as much.
• •If TVH, expected to do most of it. Kisby does special entry → Mayo Clinic style with anterior entry transvaginally (must prep and know steps prior to surgery). See email Kisby sent out with resources on Mayo TVH.
• •Overall, KNOW STEPS FOR TVH Day 1 (non-Mayo method if not working with Kisby).
• •If robotic, do entry and bedside assist. If modules and bedside completed, can sit at console.
• •Fellows write all the op notes, unless you do the entire case (i.e., Sling, etc.) — but uncommon.

PGY-2 Job:

• •Post-op orders.
• •Patient discharge instructions.
• •Admission orders (admit to obs).
• •Send “email” in Epic including patient void trial results. Communicates patient disposition based on void trial (foley vs self cath). Fellows look for it all night until result sent.
• •Lots of anterior cystocele and posterior rectocele repairs — helpful to review anatomy.

Wait to see if something comes through.

• •If patients stay, call night team for sign out after last case or ~7:30 PM (text night team for good sign out time).
• •For night team want everything done for them — so stay and do all the orders.
• •If people don’t stay, no rounding.
