MIGS Inpatient Workflow

Brief op note, discharge orders/instructions, first-call coverage of MIGS patients PACU/ACU/admitted, postop check requirements, AVS dot phrases.

  • At end of case: enter brief op note, place discharge orders + instructions. Confirm who will be writing the operative note.
  • List yourself as first call on all MIGS patients (PACU / ACU / admitted until signout).
  • Any MIGS patient that is admitted must have a documented postop check.
  • In the occasional event a patient is admitted, you are expected to round on the patient and sign your note to the fellow / attending (depends on who is rounding).
  • Prior to leaving the hospital, make sure patient is stable and doing well prior to sign out patients to on-call team.
